El eje de toma de fuerza (PTO, por sus siglas en inglés) es un componente mecánico que se utiliza para transferir potencia desde un tractor u otra fuente de energía a un implemento acoplado, como una segadora, una cultivadora o una empacadora. El eje de toma de fuerza suele estar ubicado en la parte trasera del tractor y recibe la potencia del motor del tractor a través de la transmisión.
El eje de la toma de fuerza (TDF) está diseñado para proporcionar una fuente de energía rotativa al implemento, permitiéndole realizar su función prevista.
